Zaria, Kaduna State — August 12, 2026: The staff and students of Hope For The Blind Nigeria have joined together to celebrate the 80th birthday of the organization’s esteemed Chairperson, Prof. Mrs. T.O. Gani-Ikilama, in a special service of thanksgiving and celebration held at the organization’s office in Zaria.
The celebration, held in honour of the remarkable milestone, brought staff and students together to express their gratitude to God for the life of the Chairperson and to appreciate her years of service, leadership, and commitment to the vision of Hope For The Blind Nigeria.
Although Prof. Mrs. Gani-Ikilama was unable to attend the celebration in person, the occasion was filled with prayers, thanksgiving, goodwill, and heartfelt expressions of love and appreciation from members of the organization.
The programme commenced with an opening prayer, followed by a vibrant session of praise and worship. Staff and students then shared testimonies and words of appreciation, reflecting on the impact of the Chairperson and the significance of her contribution to the organization.
One of the highlights of the celebration was the opportunity given to staff and students to express their birthday wishes and prayers for the celebrant. Participants prayed for God’s continued protection, good health, strength, wisdom, peace, and many more years of fruitful service.
A special prayer was also offered for Prof. Mrs. Gani-Ikilama, with members of the Hope For The Blind Nigeria family joining together in thanksgiving and seeking God’s blessings upon her life.
The celebration also acknowledged her twin sister, Mummy Kehinde Umane, who shares this special 80th birthday milestone. Both sisters were remembered with warm wishes and prayers for continued joy, peace, good health, and fulfilment in the years ahead.
The event concluded with light refreshments and a closing prayer, bringing the celebration to a joyful and memorable end.
