Compassion Without Limits. Lighting the Way for the Blind

Godliness

Whatever we do should be
Christ-centered

Empathy

To feel and share the experience of the
VISUALLY IMPAIRED

Commitment

Give unreserved SERVICE and
HOPE to the Blind

I will lead the blind by ways they have not known,
   along unfamiliar paths I will guide them;
I will turn the darkness into light before them
   and make the rough places smooth.
These are the things I will do;
   I will not forsake them.

About Us

Hope for the Blind is a non – profit making Christian charity organization

It started in 1976 when two blind persons Dr. Bitrus Gani-Ikilama and his friend Mallam Luka Hayi with two sighted friends Dr. A H Dyson and Dr. (later Professor) Peter Asun, felt led by God to start a Cassette ministry (funded from their own pockets) for the Blind. This was in response to the call of several blind students who wrote to Mr. Gani seeking help. The ministry was at that time called the Tape Recording Service for the Blind, and remained so until June 1979 when it was renamed HOPE FOR THE BLIND.

Dr. Bitrus Gani-Ikilama was the founding chairman and remained so until he died in 2011.
